Color Management in GA

Today we talk about a technical but fascinating topic: COLOR MANAGEMENT in Grafica Atestina. A 4-step workflow to avoid unpleasant surprises!

Step 1

COLORIMETRIC CHECK on incoming documents, checking: ICC Profile, TAC, Gamut. In case of excessive TAC, "Reseparation" is applied, which is a workflow capable of re-separating the four-colour process, to have a better color spread during the printing phase, without affecting the final result.

Step 2

Latest generation COLOR PROOF, certified and contractual according to Fogra standards for coated and uncoated, is able to simulate 99% four-colour process and 95% all Pantone® colors (except metallics and fluorescents). Thanks to the gmg colorlab flow we are able to simulate glossy and matt lamination on the printed matter,

Step 3

IN-PROCESS CONTROL, in compliance with ISO 12647, ISO CHECK cmyk spectrophotometric controls are carried out during the printing phase. The management of Pantone® C and U colors always takes place via spectrophotometer, detecting and interpreting the CIELAB values, to obtain a ΔE according to the standard.

Step 4

OFFSET MACHINE LINEARIZATION. To manage variations in printing machines (mechanics, chemistry and inks), compensation is carried out through form tests according to ISO 12647, which allows the repeatability and stability of the jobs over time.
